Hi! I’m Carol Lopez. Thanks for visiting me here! I’ve been making some changes in my life as I’m sure you have been too, especially post pandemic! While I have loved coaching and being coached, I’m now using my coaching skills in a different way. More about this later.

A bit of background — I grew up in Markham, Illinois, just outside of Chicago. As an adolescent, I grew to love books and reading. My dad was an avid reader especially in the winter months due to the nature of his work. It was from my observation of his love for reading that imparted seeds that would eventually lead me to author my story.

Some of my friends were surprised after reading “Muck Off” and realized that my relationship with my dad was not the best. In fact, it was one interaction with my dad, that “pulled the trigger” for me to publish my story. (Pun intended!) After I left home to join the U.S. Navy, at the age of 19, more muck happened. Through all of the muck, heart ache, and lessons learned, I feel it is human nature to want to share to help others.

My former career in Human Resources spanned over 15 years in both public and government sectors. I have a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and an undergraduate degree with a concentration in psychology and minor in criminal justice. I stuck with the Navy and retired with 20 years of combined active and reserve service. I then became a life coach and coached leaders within Boeing, eventually coaching clients for my own business as well as a non-profit organization.

The book, “Muck Off,” is my story of resilience and perseverance bundled up in a self-development format that is easy to read with thought provoking questions. Applying my education, knowledge, and hard-knock experiences will help you create your happily ever after. The book will surely give you introspection, guidance, and coaching. Need some reassurance? Check out the reviews.
